Marnie is a registered Psychologist and has been providing psychological services since 2005.  She has an extensive background in both private and hospital settings and works with adult clients on a wide range of presenting issues including:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Stress

  • Trauma & PTSD

  • Grief & loss

  • Life transitions

  • Relationship issues (individuals and couples)

Marnie adopts an integrative approach to therapy that is sensitive to the needs of her clients.  She works with an awareness of the mind-body system and believes strongly in promoting her clients’ inherent strengths and innate capacities for health and wellbeing.  She is committed to providing a compassionate, supportive and trusting therapeutic relationship, and creating a safe space for her clients to heal, change and grow.

Marnie draws on her training and knowledge of various evidence-based treatments including:

  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Interpersonal Psychotherapy

  • Psychodynamic Therapy

  • Emotion Focused Therapy

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

  • Mindfulness and Compassion-Based Interventions 

Additionally, Marnie has a strong interest in the role of nutritional, environmental and other lifestyle factors on mental health and has completed post-graduate training in this area.  She has also had specialist training in couple therapy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Hons, Major: Psychology) (La Trobe University)

  • Diploma of Integrative Interpersonal Counselling and Psychotherapy (Yarra Valley Psychology)

  • Specialist Course in Couple Therapy (Relationships Australia Victoria)

  • Postgraduate training in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine and Mental Health (Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine)

  • Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia

  • Member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi)

  • Member of the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA)

  • Member of the Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM)
